It all started in a quiet afternoon.

I typed in Cup Cakes London; Violet came up on google search.

Clicked on the link. It brought me to Claire, the pair of hands baking all the delicious loaf cakes and lovely icing at Violet.

Reading her blog is a joy. Her photos are light and airy.

I was delighted to know that finally she opened her kitchen where orders could be collected and simple dishes served.

This weekend, being soaked in Autumn sun, we decided to visit the small establishment in East London.

Driving through eclectic Hackney and Clapton, the streets became more and more familiar.

When the car stopped in front of the shop, I realised it was just a few streets away from our previous residence in nearby Haggerston.

We could have been neighbours.

Volet - A cake shop selling cupcakes and some little lovely things.

The sign on the side of the tiny building resembled with a continental accent.

Just like one of the delis you would find when you visit rural towns in southern Europe.

Coffee/ Cakes Display - Simple without fuss. Violet only does filter coffee - just the way I like it.

One of the best ways to appreciate a lovely cup of coffee.

Quince - one of the Autumn's symbolic produce.

Quince Jelly with salted Manchego cheese or fresh spread for a nice slice of bread.

This is a type of fruits that between pears and apples. Even though it is a type of fruits, it cannot be eaten raw but it is delicious as jelly or jam.  W1000H100.jpg
